We have survived another CELEBRATION DAY. This year, we had a very low key holiday, (no police visited us this year! Unfortunately, this is only a HALF-joke. Our record for a 4th of July party, at the height of our hedonism, is having the police at the house THREE TIMES. We're older and more tired now...)
To quote the movie DAZED AND CONFUSED on the Independence Day holiday: "...remember what you're celebrating, the fact that a bunch aristocratic white males didn't want to pay their taxes!" And to quote the Simpsons this holiday allow us to "Celebrate the independence of your nation by blowing up a small part of it." Stupid but true...

[Crayon, felt pen, brush pen, color change marker, colored pencil, and cardboard collage on paper with digital embellishments and color.] I drew this several weeks ago, but it really seems to fit in with today's hate-filled Supreme Court decision, allowing people to openly discriminate against others in the name of religion.
I know this is the wrong way to look at it, but I wouldn't WANT someone who openly hates me to make my products or take my picture or cook my food. Businesses with policies that support discrimination will be easier to identify and AVOID, now, at the very least. However, I also recognize that such a historic SCOTUS decision is going to EMBOLDEN evil hearted groups to be that much more horrible to people who they don't see eye-to-eye with. Serious bullshit... So much for a loving god creating creatures in his loving image... (Anyone who's actually read the book knows this isn't the story [stories] that are told within those pages...There's blood... LOTS of blood... And the horrible things that people DO in the name of that book and that religion are, frankly, disgusting and unforgivable...)
