"Let's get some more pieces of wood, that's not enough." Sam told Peter.
Sam and Peter were two great childhood friends who grew up in the same neighborhood and went to school together and even went to birthday parties together.
Sam had a house with a long garden and some trees from olive to chestnut and where you could see the mountains on the horizon in the background.
Peter lived in a small house with little garden and often went to play with Sam in his garden.
Sam's father was a locksmith by trade, he built everything in wood for both houses and fences, among other jobs.
One day they imagined what it would be like to have a tree house and to be able to imagine everything they wanted inside that house.
This tree house would be her refuge, her place of shelter. They could imagine anything they wanted to be and they could be anywhere in their imagination.
Sam asked his father for some wooden boards and help as Sam was only twelve years old, as was his friend Peter.
Sam's father was worried at first and if something went wrong if they fell out of the house they could get hurt a lot.
"I don't know if it's a good idea Sam, I'm going to have to talk to your mom, we have to decide" Sam's father told him.
Sam told Peter that he had asked his father for help building the tree house and that his father would think about it and talk to his mother to see if it was a good idea and that the next day he would give the answer.
The next day was school vacation day Sam and Peter wouldn't have classes and Peter was anxious to see if Sam's father would agree to help build the tree house.
Early in the morning, Peter went to Sam's house.
"Is Sam there?" Peter asked Sam's father.
"Yes, you can come in and I'm glad you're here, I see you're eager to know if you can make your tree house." said Sam's father to Peter.
Peter, looking a little embarrassed, nodded very shyly in an affirmative nod.
"Peter you're here, I'm glad you came" said Sam
Sam's parents had made the decision that they could make the tree house with the help of Sam's father, but on one condition Sam's father and mother after the house was finished also wanted to go there.
That same day Sam's father went to the locksmith shop and brought a car full of boards, he also went to get some nails and started making the floor of the house.
The tree chosen was a chestnut tree with many years of age that was very robust and had a space between its long and thick branches where the house fit well in addition to a beautiful view over the mountains.
At the end of the day, the lower part of the house was already built and one of the walls was already built as well.
They agreed the next day early in the morning to continue work on the tree house.
Peter and Sam that night didn't even sleep well, they had so many dreams and anxiety, they could already imagine the house built, it was a dream that was coming true in a few days.
Early the next day they continued building the tree house and this time Sam's mother joined them in helping the house take shape Sam's mother even made some sort of curtains for the two windows of the house.
The house was almost ready Sam's father built a big ladder and walked on top of the chestnut tree building the house Peter and Sam went to get everything their father needed boards and nails, hammer was a team work.
It was so close to the next day that the tree house was going to be debuted and Peter and Sam didn't even sleep, they were counting the hours until dawn and the sun to rise.
When the sun came up, Peter was already knocking on Sam's door to put the finishing touches on, the grand opening would be in the late afternoon.
It was a beautiful sunny day.
That day Peter even had lunch at Sam's house a little too quickly because the anxiety was great.
By the end of the day the house was ready, it was a beautiful oak house with two side windows, curtains that Sam's mother had made and a long door so they could join in enjoying the skyline.
The ascent was by a rope ladder that swayed a little but was very safe, the house was about 5 meters high, it was a dream come true.
Inside, there were even cushions, a small table and some wooden benches. This tree house is beautiful.
The sun was setting and it was a beautiful sunset with the sun over the mountains on the horizon.
Peter and Sam didn't want to leave the tree house now that it was their place for the world there they could be anything the imagination wanted.
As promised, Sam's parents also went up and entered the tree house and stood with a smile on their lips watching the sunset as the four sat in the doorway.
Sam's father said: "You know Sam and Peter I always had the dream of having a tree house as a child so I learned to be a locksmith by working and learning to work with wood, today I helped make that dream come true for you but also for me my dream also came true."
