Today I base my reflection on what Jesus really did on the cross for me.
Currently many people wander here or there looking for answers to many questions and trying to live a life really where they feel they are truly free.
Within that order of ideas many wonder what really happened in the sacrifice of the work of Jesus on the cross, because until today many think that it had no relevance that this sacrifice occurred and look at it as one more story in the humanity.
However, through this message I want to urge you to reflect for a moment the reason why Jesus went to the cross to make the greatest sacrifice in history and of all time.
The Bible tells us that there is no greater and deeper love that can exist than the love of God for his wonderful work, that is, his creation. The book of Romans 5: 7-8 New International Version (NIV) tells us
7 There will hardly be anyone who dies for a righteous man, although perhaps there are those who dare to die for a good person. 8 But God demonstrates his love for us in this: that when we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
This is the love and the great reason why Christ goes to the cross, is reflected in this quoted verse and it is that what really motivated Jesus to go to the cross was that incomparable and strange love of God for humanity.
Undoubtedly this was the greatest love that could exist for humans, only this kind of incomprehensible love could save us from the eternal damnation to which we were destined for our sins.
God did not want his masterpiece to be lost and he looked for a single righteous man who could pay for our condemnation. That righteous man was Jesus Christ, his perfect beloved son, for he had no blemishes or sins and brought upon him all our punishment that we deserved.
On the cross Jesus freed me and not only did it for a small group of people he did it for all men so that through Him we could aspire to eternal life and not condemn ourselves.
In this way the reason why this sacrifice was made and the disposition that must be in man to understand this kind of love and return with gratitude this sacrifice of our beloved savior is proven.
How are we going to thank him, accepting and recognizing in our hearts that He died for us and that we must in gratitude respond to this enormous sacrifice by inviting him to live in our hearts to change his life and acquire a new identity
Let us truly reflect on the reason why Jesus went to the cross to see if it is worth serving and keep gratitude and faithfulness to this immense sacrifice.
