In Africa, we see police altercations almost every day of our life.

It's too sad how you wake up in the morning with a smiley face with a plan on how you are going to spend the day and then all of a sudden your good day turns into a nightmare.
This is not a friction story or a makeup story, this is an event that happened about a year ago.
It all started when a friend from my area was stopped by the police on the road, their reason for stopping him was because his car number plate was a DV plate, but we all know the reason why they were stopping him. This friend of mine didn’t stop, he decided to drive off and the police started chasing him, he drove into the compound of my areas chiefs palace, but the police didn’t stop there they chased him inside the compound and shot 3 times at the car he was driving, unfortunately, one of the bullets hit him.
The youth around became angry because it was an insult to come into the compound of a chief palace and shoot someone in the presence of the chief. We all came around demanding justice for what they did at the chief's place but instead, the chief and the elders around protected them. We the youth around became more furious as to why the chief would protect these people and then started burning car tires on the road before we realized some of the youth went and attacked one of the police stations around the area.
It was a brutal day between civilians and the police shot were fired and innocent people were injured. One of the severely injured people was An SHS student who was on his way home from school and was found in the crossfire. His jaws were broken as a result of a police officer using the back of his machine gun to hit him.
The police-Civilian clash went on for hours until the military got involved and that was when the situation got under control.
Though I wasn’t in support of the clash, all we wanted was justice for what the police did to our friend.
The major finally broke the silence and took responsibility for what the police did, he stated that the government will take care of the hospital bills of our friends and also the SHS student who got his Jaws broken.
The guy with the broken Jaw had to be taken to South Africa for a plastic surgery and the guy that got shot in the car had a successful surgery in Ghana.
He is now fully recovered and got married this year
Thank You
