Today was supposed to be just another regular school day for Ryzen, but when we arrived, instead of heading straight to class, we joined the "Ligtas Tigdas" program being held right there in our barangay.
Our barangay health workers and a nurse were busy.
First, they measured their height and weight, writing down each detail, then once done, they gave the kids their Vitamin A and a booster shot. 💉
This shot is just a follow-up to the ones they received when they were still babies. Now that they're in school, these boosters help keep them safe and protected.
And you could really see the difference in how each child reacted.
Some started crying the moment they saw the needle. Others were already having little tantrums even before it was their turn. 😅
You could also tell every mom wanted what was best for their little ones, doing whatever it took to keep them calm and brave.
As for me? I didn't tell Ryzen a single thing about the shot beforehand.
I just let him think it was all part of a normal school day, so he stayed relaxed and happy, with no idea what was coming. 😂
When it was our turn, the nurse offered Ryzen a candy first to brighten his mood.
And then after that... it was done. 🎉
To my surprise, he didn't cry. Not even a little whimper.
I was like... wait, is he okay? Is he numb? 😆 Because literally all his classmates were crying around him.
After the shot, he just leaned quietly against me.
Maybe the surprise took all his energy away, haha.
That's just how Ryzen was, even back when he was a baby... so brave and calm. 💪
Afterward, we picked up Ryzen's packed meal from his classroom and headed home. Thankfully, he didn't have any side effects at all. Aiden also got his shot later on, and everything went smoothly too. 🙏
By the afternoon, we went upstairs to relax. Sipping coffee and munching on some snacks. Just gazing out at the beautiful view. It felt so peaceful... like the day had been blessed, indeed. ✨
It was an unexpected day, but I'm so glad both my boys are protected and healthy.
Until our next booster shot experience...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
