Do all answers on musing have to be long?

No, I don't think so. If it is a yes no question and it clarifies everything, it is not supposed to be long. I also see some answers are long only for the sake of it. 

Maybe it is thought if someone gives a long answer, curators will consider it as a quality answer and get a bigger upvote. Sometimes long answer catch attention, but if you read the answer, you will understand what's going on. As a curator of a community, I can tell you that length of post or answer does not implies quality.

Unfortunately, some people think short answer means low quality. But that is not true. To make your point clear, you can explain your answer and give example. Everyone appreciates that. 

Let's talk about getting upvote from @musing. If you think long answer gets big upvote, that's not correct. I see quality answers get big upvote from musing and it does not necessarily have to be long.  I got big upvote on musing answer and the answer was not long.
