¿Dónde es la candela? versión 1/Where is the fire? version 1( Esp/Eng) 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎨

Buen día comunidad. Hoy les muestro mi obra surrealista titulada ¿Dónde es la candela? pero su primera versión realizada en el año 2013.
Recientemente publiqué una versión de la obra actualizada éste año pero la obra primogénica, me gusta más.

Good day, community. Today I present my surrealist piece titled Where Is the Fire?, but this is its first version, created in 2013. I recently published an updated version of the work this year, yet I find myself more drawn to the original one.

Aunque en ambas obras el mensaje es el mismo y utilicé varios materiales en su realización, en la parte visual son similares pero en una predomina el dibujo mientras que en la otra, el color de las temperas destacan al bombero además de la diferencia en tamaño. También difieren un poco en los pequeños dibujos en el fondo que representan los problemas sociales de mi país en ambas épocas, épocas diferentes por los que hay problemas que coinciden pero en el 2025 se han agravado incluyendo la violencia. La conducta de los gobernadores es igual a la de un bombero incendiario ayer y la de un pirómano disfrazado de bombero hoy🔥🔥🔥

Although both pieces share the same message and I used various materials in their creation, visually they are similar, but one emphasizes drawing while the other highlights the firefighter through the vivid colors of tempera, along with a difference in size. They also differ slightly in the small background drawings that represent the social issues of my country in both periods—different times, with recurring problems, but by 2025 some have worsened, including violence. The behavior of the governors resembles that of an arsonist firefighter in the past, and today, that of a pyromaniac disguised as a firefighter. 🔥🔥🔥

La realización de ésta obra no fue fácil. Cuando creo una obra, primero me concentro en el concepto o mensaje y después hago el esquema o boceto de la obra. Desde el primer momento, el concepto en mi tierra natal pudiera ocasionarme problemas pero el arte no pide permiso para expresar.
En cuanto a la parte formal, la realización fue un reto para mí porque disfruto dibujar pero no pinto mucho y además, sería la primera vez donde pintaría en una papel más grande. Primero dibujé al bombero con lápiz y después comencé a pintarlo con acuarelas y temperas. No me iba a alcanzar la tempera amarilla que tenía y tuve que utilizar acuarela también. Mientras pintaba y hacía las mezclas de colores tenía que tener en cuenta no humedecer mucho el soporte (papel kraft) para no dañarlo. Después de terminar de pintar llegó la hora de quemar con cuidado los alrededores del bombero, después pegé por los alrededores más alejados de la pintura, pedazos de cartones y de madera vieja. Esperé un tiempo a que pegara bien todo y comencé a quemar los cartones y las maderas pegadas. Más tarde las rocié con lácar para pelo así como las partes quemadas del papel. Al final pinté pequeñas figuras que simbolizan los problemas sociales.

Creating this piece was not easy. When I begin a work, I first focus on the concept or message, and then I sketch the composition. From the very beginning, I knew the concept could cause trouble in my homeland but art doesn’t ask for permission to speak.
Formally, the process was a challenge for me because I enjoy drawing but rarely paint, and this would be the first time I painted on such a large sheet of paper. I started by sketching the firefighter in pencil, then began painting with watercolors and tempera. I didn’t have enough yellow tempera, so I had to use watercolor as well. While painting and mixing colors, I had to be careful not to overly wet the surface (kraft paper) to avoid damaging it.
Once the painting was finished, it was time to carefully burn the edges around the firefighter. Then I glued pieces of cardboard and old wood around the outer edges of the painting. I waited for everything to adhere properly before burning the attached cardboard and wood. Later, I sprayed them with hair lacquer, including the burnt areas of the paper. Finally, I painted small figures that symbolize social problems.

Utilicé los siguientes materiales para realizar la obra:

• papel kraft de 100 cm x 70 cm
• lápiz HB
• acuarelas y temperas
• lácar para pelo
• pedazos de cartón
• pedazos de madera vieja
• goma de pegar ( acetato)
• vela para quemar

• pieces of cardboard
• pieces of old wood
• glue (acetate-based)
• candle for burning

Fue un trabajo agotador, experimental pero el esfuerzo valió la pena y pude exponerlo con mis amigos en el Cine Lajero de mi pueblo 🎨

It was an exhausting, experimental process, but the effort was worth it—and I was able to exhibit it with my friends at the Cine Lajero in my hometown. 🎨
