Changing my mobile crypto wallets

I like to split the storage of my Bitcoin about 50-50 on my ledger and a mobile wallet on my android phone.

The reason I do this is just in case the apocalypse happens when I'm not at home, in which case I may not be able to access my ledger before the looters, but I always take my phone with me when I leave the house, so I can guarantee I can at least start off in flight mode with some crypto on my phone.

Android wallets old and new

I had been using Coinomi as said wallet up until recently - but since the screen went dead on my old phone I need to reinstall it on my new phone and that means digging out the key to my safe from secure place number one, accessing the safe from secure place number two, and then accessing the encrypted USB disk therein - what a hassle.

In the absence of Coinomi, I've been using the Crypterium wallet to store half my BTC. However I got a rather would shock when I couldn't access it due to 'connection issues' the other day - it suddenly dawned on me that this is an app that links to online storage, which isn't ultimately controlled by me!

Shame, I actually really liked the Crypterium wallet - you could send people crypto by text message, and they've just released a credit card, but if it's online storage, fuck that shit and your permission to access MY crypto.

Hence I started looking around for a wallet that I actually control the keys for and I hit on Mycellium.

It was a toss up between this and a few others TBH, but Mycellium had the most downloads and positive reviews so I went for it. First thoughts are that it's very accessible - easy to install, set the back ups for, easy to use and secure.

My concerns about the Crypterium wallet were confirmed when I had to authorise the withdrawal - WTF - I'd honestly thought I was in control of this shit, obviously not.

After a painful 4 hours, finally my BTC is out of my Crypterium wallet and into my Mycellium wallet!

What a wake up call!

Can anyone recommend a decent Android wallet for Litecoin and Eth?

Mycellium only stores BTC, but I'd like to store some LTC and ETH on my phone too, maybe a few other alts. Anyone recommend a decent multi-coin wallet that isn't Coinomi?

Or maybe I should just stick with cold storage and permanently attach my ledger to my neck with a stainless steel chain? (In case of my not being at home when the apocalypse hits.)

Final thoughts....

There's only one way to end this:

Not your keys, not your crypto!
Not your apocalypse, probably not your crypto for much longer anyway!
