For the love of computers...

Computers have become such a huge part of our lives. I have no idea how I would operate without one but I am old enough to remember life before computers took over. Can you remember those days?

Over the years I have had many problems with computers and it can be very frustrating. Every time there was an issue, I would, jokingly, claim that computers are female. This never evoked a positive response from any lady in the vicinity and would lead to a debate as to the gender of computers.

I have heard many jokes about this hypothetical topic. You may have too. Here are some opinions that I heard over the years.

Computers are male because...

1. You have to turn them on to get their attention. 😁
2. They have a lot of data but still cannot think for themselves. 😁
3. They're supposed to help you solve problems but most of the time they are the problem. 😁
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realise that there is now a better model available. 😁

Computers are female because ...

1. No one but their creator understands their logic. 😁
2. When computers communicate with one another they use a language that only they can understand. 😁
3. Every mistake you make is stored on a hard drive to be used later. 😁
4. As soon as you commit to one, you spent half your money accessorising it. 😁

Please note that this is tongue-in-cheek and meant to make you smile as you recognize stereotypes of the differences between men and women. It is not meant to evoke debate on the accuracy of those stereotypes. I would, however, be interested in adding to the humour if you had any perspectives to add.
