This is my entry for the Daily Freewrite Challenge hosted by . You can find the prompt here. Anyone can enter. If I can do this, you can too!
Check out the prompt post even if you do not want to participate. It is filled with all kinds of helpful tips and links.
I am very sure that you are misunderstanding me right now. The daily prompt is 'idiot' and I'm posting a picture of the American president. If you are putting these two together you may think that I am making a statement regarding this president guy, but I am not.
When I saw the prompt, I immediately thought of two kinds of people that I would call idiots often enough to remember it. The one kind is irresponsible drivers. Maybe we have this in common but I get very upset when people drive selfishly or irresponsibly. I am not in the habit of showing them my hands, clenched or emphasizing specific fingers. It seems to be a very powerless way of expressing myself. But I will think or say the word 'idiot' when upset in this way.
The other kind is politicians. I have never called anyone an 'idiot' to their face but that is more for a lack of opportunity than as a result of cowardice. The reality is that I have called most of my country's politicians idiots as I listened to their speeches or heard what they did or said. Politics seem to be a particularly attractive career choice for those born with the 'idiot' gene. Or at least that is the case in my country.
When I saw the prompt I immediately did a search for a picture to accompany the post. And guess what! The pic above popped up in the search. I found this funny and searched a couple of other sites too. It seems this American politician is often considered a visualisation of today's prompt. And that is not just in my country that we vote for idiots.
If you are a fan of the man in the pic, I apologize. I do not know his politics well enough to have a considered opinion on how well he illustrates today's prompt.
