What is the use of having a lot of people trembling or falling during the Sunday if they then live in adultery the rest of the week? What good is it to have a multitude of young people dancing in circles if they can not be free from the networks of pornography?
I have always maintained that God respects the emotional structure of each person. On one occasion He was defined as "The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob", the same Lord but with a different treatment for each of his servants.
We can not expect the Lord to do the same with everyone, let alone be so negligent of wanting to "import" certain movements from other countries.
I am not making a judgment of values regarding the ways that each church could have to celebrate its services. I'm sure a Cuban does not sing like a Canadian. And that an American does not worship in the same way that a Dominican would. But even over our cultures we must ask ourselves what produces in us a true change of life.
We need our churches to have the genuine fire of the conviction of sin that the Apostle Paul spoke to the Corinthian church:
"If a sinner enters the church, the hidden part of his heart becomes manifest, and falling on his face, he will adore"
Prostrating on his face was a sign of extreme humiliation. The importance is not given in the fact of jumping, roaring like a buffalo, trembling, screaming outrageously or sliding on the floor of the church like a reptile. The core and the only really important thing is that his heart is exposed, the hidden comes to light and only remains to worship with a deep conviction and a need for repentance.
The coal of fire is life in secret !!!
I do not know what you're thinking now, but as far as I'm concerned, there is not a single day in my life when I do not ask the Lord to have such a ministry. A life of integrity that comes from the fire originated in his presence.
We should never underestimate the power of our actions.
A small gesture can transform the life of another for good or for bad.
