Did he swear and get angry? Sure I believe that. But being angry and being crazy are not the same thing. The reporting on this seems to imply he has lost his mind: "scatterbrained rant. . .question his stability". I heard the clip they recorded, he doesn’t sound like he’s lost it. The bit about small miners they keep repeating: I don’t know, its so short and out of context. Again is that craziness or anger and maybe some childish taunting?
Not defending Wright, he may very well be completely nuts- he did claim to invent bitcoin. I'm just commenting on the coverage of it. This Wright coverage, overuse of the word “consensus”, dismissal of warnings against SegWit…The "mainstream" bitcoin news is just too confident, too unilateral- if you don't agree its because you're crazy like Wright... The reality is 15% of the bitcoin network still hasn’t switched to the SegWit side and we're only a month away now.
Wright is not alone, the opposition isn't crazy, its significant. The news is misrepresenting that i think. A bitcoin split is probably inevitable if SegWit succeeds. They need to do a better job making sure everyone knows that; this isn't going away and the deadline is fast approaching.
