Average- the word sounds like slang. Maybe it's slang to the society too. Nobody likes average people and as such, no one also wants to be average. Average looking, average academic score, average income...Ahh...it disgusts us.
But wait, don't the average cases are the majority?
I was thinking the other day after having a conversation with one of my friends, is this okay to be an average?
It's a choice of how you want to live your life. If you fail countless times and still try, you are making the chance to succeed one day. And if you give up, you will have the same life or worse. So it's a choice actually. Now the thing is if you make the choice to be an average; I believe it's absolutely okay as long as you are happy with it.
We all know the society will not leave us to be judgemental about ourselves. So if you are happy with whatever life you have, you should learn to ignore that. But most importantly, know that it's okay to not become the first, to not look perfect, to not replicate the perfect happy image of yourself.
If you are happy inside, that's what matters most. So learning to create our own happiness is more important than anything.
I was a straight 'A' throughout my whole life. From my academic to my career life, I accomplished many things. And now I'm a Stay Home Mom. I'm not gonna tell you what would you think about me because somehow I think I know. So coming into this position, when I get too many judgemental thoughts about myself, it surprises me. Not because I discover anything worse about my life but because thinking about "why people can't take 'average' as an acceptable thing".
There are countless people who are trying hard to prove they are not average though they don't feel the need for it and happy with their life; just because of our judgment and their own lack of realization. I always think it's okay to lose sometimes, it's okay to look average, it's fine to live like a common man!
What do you think?
