“Bravery is being scared and saddling up anyway.” John Wayne
There have been the great moments of achievement this year, the dark spells where entropy seems to take hold, and then there are just weird times. With the changing of the seasons where death and cold take hold of father time, it’s time for me to embark on a new adventure. True adventure is not simply a relaxing voyage through a time in life chosen by you. Contrary to what most seem to believe, too often it is fraught with facing present fears, battling demons of the past, and challenging the possible evils of the future. For my case this has been a developing situation that I knew, sooner or later, it would have to be resolved. It is going to require change in lifestyle, training, and possibly mindset.
That change includes more frequent and reliable posting to this channel. It also includes a change in work. Beyond that I’m not sure what else will come. I do have a plan, but the adage “no plan survives contact with the enemy” holds true. More than a detailed plan I prefer “waypoints” to reach. In the next year I’m planning on taking a course on profitable small market farming, along with taking the Tactical Response Trifecta and Active Shooter courses again, only this time I won’t be going through that alone. I intend to continue an expansion and exploration into the new form of liberty that I find is being discovered today. I also happen to find that I learn as I write, so this might be a slow and arduous intellectual crawl, but if you’ll bear with me I believe it will be worth it.
In short summary, come early November, this channel will become more active. I’ll have book reviews, experiences to share, history to explore, and delve deeper into the human mind to understand just where we might be headed. I have goals to help in my community (agriculturally, in manufacturing, developing classical beauty, and encouraging people to be more social), and hopefully I’ll be able to convey them to you so that you might find a way to implement these ideas in your area. Most people think that because they can do so little where they feel they are at in life they don’t attempt anything at all. However, there is only one way that I know how to eat an elephant: one piece at a time.
