You're spending the weekend totally alone between Friday night and Sunday night. What do you do, where do you go, if anywhere, and why? Explain your answers.
This prompt is actually quite apt because coincidentally, I am spending this weekend mostly alone. I usually set aside some time to catch up with friends on the weekends but some of my friends have quickly taken advantage of the reopening of borders to travel to neighbouring countries like Malaysia and Thailand for short getaways. So here I am, writing posts on Hive! Hehe!
So I have shortlisted some ideas what I would do during these 48 hours! (Some of them were actual events that took place!)
1) Sleep/Rest
I find that weekdays are usually busier due to work and sometimes, I sacrifice sleep (even though I know it's unhealthy) at the expense of completing work or just randomly browsing Youtube or reading posts on Hive. So if I had "excess" time, I would gladly get some well deserved rest!
2) Cafe Hopping
I am a fan of caffeinated drinks, be it tea or coffee. I like to chill at cafes (both alone or with friends) and there's so much to do. I could draft some posts (I did that for one of the my earliest post for the Weekend Engagement), browse the social media or catch up with the current affairs, or just people watch. Armed with a cup of aromatic coffee and a mobile device, the possibilities are endless.
3) Plan My Life
If you might recall, I do talk to myself (not verbally) a lot. By planning my life, I mean taking stock of my life. For example, reviewing some of the targets that I have set for myself earlier and see what can done better. Or setting some personal plans for myself to work on in the coming months.
4) Exercise
I wouldn't say I am an active person but I think exercise is important, so I would take time to go to the gym or just take some walks in the city. Well, I don't quite enjoy the sweating part, but there's definitely the "feel good" feeling from the effect of endorphins after the exercise.
5) Try Out A New Experience
On the rare occasions that I am feeling adventurous, I would take the effort to plan something out of my ordinary schedule. Some of the more adventurous stuff that I have done include walking on foot for hours to visit a new area, booking a Turkish Hammam session at a spa and spending an entire day to attend an investment-related seminar.
So that's it for my sharing! Probably not the most exciting type of activities but I enjoy simplicity in life! Thanks for reading and wishing all a pleasant week ahead! :)
