Facebook is currently testing a facial recognition feature for identity verification, one way to sign into an account once it's locked.
Facebook stated, as quoted from The Verge page, this option is only available on devices that have been used by their users to log into their Facebook account.
à ¢ â, ¬ Å "This is one way, in addition to two authentication steps via SMS, which we take to ensure the identity of the account owner, à ¢ â,¬Â said Facebook.
If a user is locked out of a Facebook account and can not access double authentication in the form of a code via SMS, face scan becomes an alternative to sign in.
Face verification will take place during account recovery process.
Facebook since last year created a feature that automatically recognizes faces in photos and videos and automatically links them to friends.
Facebook also trains their neural network machines to recognize people through hair, body shape and posture.
