Splinterlands has been making the game more and more interesting as days are passing by. New formats, new rule sets, new abilities have been introduced into the game. Which made this NFT play to earn game much more competitive . In addition to that, spending time playing the game has become an addiction to many players.
There are some battles which sometimes gives goosebumps to players. When the strategy, abilities, rule sets all come together and the end result gets to the expected note. Let me share a battle which I was expecting and tried to implement my strategy into the game play.
RESURRECT + MARTYUpon seeing some battles and some crazy implementation of strategies by OG users, I wanted to try out this combination in the battle. But there were some limitations and also few conditions needed to be met to make it work.
To begin with, I needed my martyr ability monster to go be knocked out at the very beginning of the match. Only than the resurrections ability would get implemented on it. Few rule sets would come in handy to reach that stage. Earthquake (Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round) or Opportunity (Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health) rule sets does fits perfectly to make this combination work smoothly as possible. Also if its a big mana match, this would be a cherry on top, type situation ;)
My two condition seemed to be met and as it seems I am good to go. Since there were two deck available to go, I went out with water splinter. Since the earthquake rule is out there, an additional shield would come in handy in a round for my monsters. I was also expecting my opposition to come up with same splinter as this is a big mana match and death does not seem to have much monsters which could withstand the earthquake ability for multiple rounds.
Since, I sort of expected water splinter monster out from my opponent I wanted to go out with a tank, which would have a void or void armor. Since I had other plans, I went out with another strategy at hand!
But I went with Diemonshark. One reason behind it was its Trample ability, it could become quite handy and also its shields. 6 Shield Along with inspire support from River Hellondale and not to forget +1 speed and shield from the summoner would make him a perfect tank to last couple of rounds in the battle. As you can see in the battle Trample ability activated and one enemy was taken out due to that affect in round 3.
Venari Marksrat took the second position. Since I was trying to activate the martyr ability in the battle field I choose this position. As I was expecting some heavy damage to my tank and also I was preparing my best monster with most effective magic damage with enough health to take charge for couple of rounds. Also the martyr ability would give some additional boost to all the abilities to both my tank and Nerissa.
Djinn, was in the fourth position because I wanted to make sure even if my monsters gets taken out there would be enough chance for me to keep the battle go on since there are void and speed backing it up. Also even if my back line up gets beaten up this could help me sustain the battle for a long time.
The trump card of the battle, River Hellondale! Well technically Vanari does fits the title but since I wanted to try out the double effect of martyr this title does suits best for hellondale. While I was also expecting some steady damage to be made by my tank due to the inspire ability. Also the additional magic damage did come in handy in the battle field. Not to mention the RESURRECT ability, which I was looking for pretty desperately lol.
Coastal Nymph was chosen, because I wanted to make sure there would be a range attack monster just in case. Due to the fact, that sometimes ranged attack monsters can take care of monsters which even magic or melee attack monsters can not. Which is why, I preferred to have a monster out in here and also it had 3 ranged damage with scattershot ability. This attack is random but quite an effective one in the battle.
I am not sure what to say! As I was really excited to see how things turn out in the battle. I must say, I was eagerly awaiting to see what it would be when the double martyr effect would come into affect. My strategy worked perfectly and also I was able to gain victory in this battle as well.
I know as a player there are countless strategy that we would like to try out. Some of them are unique and we prefer to use them at our own possible ways. If you can share them with me in the comment section below, I would really enjoy it and get to add some additional strategy in my SL note book ;)
