Inktober day 10, done!
Today it's Harlock's turn on the list of "Hot and Handsome Guys from Anime / Videogames."
Captain Harlock is one of the most iconic characters in anime and manga. This character was created by Leiji Matsumoto.
His first appearance in the television series "Captain Harlock" dates back to 1978. Since then, the mythical captain has become a symbol of rebellion, freedom, and the fight against oppression.
Harlock is a space pirate who navigates through the cosmos in his ship "The Arcadia." He is portrayed as a solitary character with a strong moral compass and a desire for freedom, which drives him to fight alongside his crew against those who seek to impose authority by force.
Harlock's design gives the character an air of mystery, authority, and impressiveness. According to Matsumoto's standard, his characters tend to be quite thin and tall; however, we see that Harlock has very broad shoulders. This detail, combined with his iconic cape, gives the character a unique sense of superiority.
He is not alone in his adventures; he has a crew of young people who have their own stories and struggles, but together they act as if they were a family. Two very important characters for Harlock are worth mentioning: his friend Tochiro and Mei.
Tochiro is Harlock's best friend: an engineer in charge of everything related to the Arcadia, and Mime, an alien who has the ability to calm people with the music of her harp, especially Harlock. They develop a friendship that at times seems romantic, but it is never clear how far their bond goes.
For this day, I wanted to draw Harlock, trying to highlight the traits of his personality in his pose and expression.
This was the result.
