#wednesdaywalk is inspired by @tattoodjay. He is taking a break right now but hopefully will be back posting and commenting soon.
The idea for Wednesday Walk is to go out for a short walk and take some shots of what you can.
As I went outside this morning I was surprised to see a little chipmunk. He was on the back deck railing and eating the piece of apple I put out for Tiny, the red squirrel.
The chipmunk is even smaller than Tiny. I don’t know how they get along but Tiny was at the other end of the deck eating the peanuts. They ignored each other.
The chipmunk finished the piece of apple and is standing up in the grass. He’s wondering what I’m doing trying to get a clear shot of him. It looks like he is smelling what is left of a dandelion but it was in front of him.
Chipmunks are not as brave as squirrels when it comes to people. Chippy soon took off towards the forest.
What a beautiful time of the year with the flowers blooming and many birds and butterflies returning. I checked out some flowers that were blooming.
Purple Columbines are a perennial wildflower. I originally found these in the ditch by the road, dug them out and put them in the garden.
Hummingbirds like the columbines. The flowers come in different colors. This is a white columbine. I also had a pink and blue one but don’t see them in the garden.
Lilacs are in full bloom and add an attractive splash of color.
Blue Bearded Irises are opening.
That’s all for this walk folks.
