Designing an app store, with in-app purchases using Steemit.
We are releasing a product line up of small form factor gaming PCs, and we have been developing a custom OS for it. With that operating system comes an app store.
We already have it setup to where users can buy premium apps, games and music with Steem.
The developers and musicians receive payments through Steem.
The review system uses comments and Steemit upvotes, and now we are looking to incorporate an in-app purchases API, so users and gamers can pay for these in-app purchases with Steem.
So far what we have is a buggy private beta, buggy yes, functioning yes. But we still have more debugging and coding to do.
So if an app user wants to unlock a premium feature, all they have to do open a menu screen, connect their account and pay with Steem.
If a gamer wants to buy a content pack, it's the same basic idea, they will open a menu dialog, select what they want and pay with STEEM.
What we hope to have is an end product that is only using Steem for purchases of apps, games, music, ebooks, independent movies and merchandise if the developers, musicians or film makers want to offer t-shirts, hats or posters for their games, music or movies.
Also more into the future we plan to offer crowd funding to help the developers, musicians, writers and film makers fund their projects with Steem.
We would love some feedback, what do you think? Will this increase the value of STEEM? Will this help the Steemit community?
