Galileo Robotics was unveiled at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing, showcasing its Galileo X robot dog. The concept combines features found in wheeled robots, off-road vehicles, and legged machines.


The architecture integrates mechanical components, actuation systems, perception capabilities, and motion control within a unified structure; according to the company, the Galileo X is designed for operations such as heavy transport on off-road terrain, warehouse logistics, guided material handling, inspection, and other mobile tasks.




The same architecture could also serve as a mobile chassis for humanoid robots. In this scenario, a system designed to manipulate objects or perform tasks using arms could utilize the platform to navigate specific areas without relying solely on bipedal locomotion. He asserts that this approach can reduce the number of specialized machines required for operations involving diverse environments.


As of now, no detailed timeline for the large-scale production or commercial deployment of the Galileo X has been released; the presentation at the World Robot Conference primarily showcased the architecture and the various forms of mobility that can be built upon it. The aim is to create a common base capable of adopting different configurations depending on the environment and the task. Instead of developing a specific robot for each type of terrain, Calo is attempting to build a single mobility architecture that can serve as a foundation for several of them.
