Recycling and Looking After Our Home.

Unfortunately it is not uncommon to come across sights such as this when out on a fishing and camping trip:-

The dead fish tend to ruin any hopes of camping in the area due to the smell and swarms of ants.

Empty corn cans, beer bottles and beer cans that litter the area are collected and we find somewhere else to fish. The rubbish is taken home to sort through.

It's Monday, and the wife @minismallholding has decided it's recycling day, the bottles and cans that have been collected, have to be sorted into tubs and the food cans disposed of into household recycling.

The cans and bottles are loaded up and taken to the recycling centre. They are counted and in South Australia 10c per bottle and can is given as refund. It is at this point, i wonder if 10c is enough to encourage people to take responsibility for their own waste. Not just bottles and cans, but all waste. i believe if the refund was 10x that offered, then surely i would have no cans or bottles to collect. Please share your thought on this.

Please encourage your friends to take a bag with them when they too are out and about to take their rubbish home.
i would be so pleased if i had no rubbish to collect when out fishing and camping.
