Dear United States residents,
Get your cryptos off centralized servers. Make it a priority!
I have withdrawn my cryptos from Coinbase (GDAX), Bittrex and Poloniex. These companies are privately owned with centralized servers. This inherently leaves them vulnerable to being hacked and/or shut down by the SEC.
Recently, Bittrex held my funds captive for over a month while they attempted to "verify" me. I had already been with them 2 years. I doesn't make any sense to purchase decentralized money and keep it on a centralized server. I don't care who owns the server. If it's centralized, it can be shut down or hacked. Don't argue with me...you know it's true!
The United States government is not pleased about the growth of Bitcoin and it's surrounding cryptos. You can bet we'll see more government involvement in the coming years. It only takes the threat of prosecution for many of these private companies to fold. You many not lose your money...but you may lose access to it for a period of time. I'm sure the feeling in your gut will be about the same.
Move your money to a decentralized exchange like OpenLedger, built on the Bitshares platform. Or, you can try EtherDelta, built on the Ethereum platform. I have accounts on both. OpenLedger is more visibly pleasing. The experience is much different than centralized exchanges. I found it difficult at first, but now I love it! And it's super safe! I feel as safe with my funds on a decentralized platform as I do with my funds in a cold storage wallet.
Dan Larimer's new EOS token will provide an entire new level of decentralization to the crypto space. EOS will allow anyone that can build a website to launch a Decentralized Autonomous Company (DAC) on EOS. You can purchase EOS on OpenLedger in the form of OPEN.EOS. That's right! The year long ICO for EOS is not even open to United States citizens. But, you can leverage the brilliance of Bitshares and purchase OPEN.EOS on OpenLedger. It's a decentralized platform. They do whatever they want! Bam! What?!
Decentralized is the key word moving forward. If its not decentralized, it is subject to tampering. You and only you should have access to your private keys. Just because Coinbase is huge, doesn't make them bulletproof. And you can bet the United States government will be looking to shoot them down.
Reality bytes, so let's change it!
