I’m young, but I know what it feels like when life stops being gentle.

I have seen enough to know that the world does not care how badly I need it to. It does not soften the blow because I am tired. It does not wait for me to catch my breath. It keeps moving, even when I am barely holding myself together.
Some days, I walk around with a kind of heaviness I cannot explain. I go to lecture halls and sit there with everyone else, but inside, I am carrying questions I do not have answers to. I keep hoping that education will open something for me, that all this effort will mean something, that one day the struggle will turn into a way out. But hope is a strange thing when the world keeps reminding me that not everyone gets a door.
Sometimes hunger is not about food. Sometimes it is about wanting one person to see me. One chance. One hand reaching back. When I do not have parents to fall back on, I learn how lonely survival can be. I learn how to swallow fear, hide disappointment, and keep showing up when my body and mind are asking me not to.
There are days I feel cracked open by everything I have had to carry.
Strength is not what I thought it was. It is not loud. It is not proud. It is getting out of bed when my chest feels tight. It is facing people when I would rather stay invisible. It is continuing a life that has not made itself easy.
Nobody gives me a map for this kind of living. Nobody tells me how to keep going when every path feels uncertain. So I move anyway. Not because I am fearless, but because there is nothing left to do but keep moving.
And somewhere in all of that pain, a voice begins to rise. Not a polished one. Not a soft one. A tired one. A real one. A voice that has been shaped by loss, by waiting, by being overlooked, by learning that no one is coming to save me.
That voice is mine.
It is not neat. It is not inspiring in the way people like to package pain. It is just honest. It carries the marks of everything I have lived through. It speaks for the nights I stayed quiet. It speaks for the mornings I had to pull myself up with nothing but stubbornness.
I am still here.
Not because it has been easy. Not because I was protected. But because even when I was breaking, something in me refused to disappear.
