Hey guys, so recently I have been having deeper thoughts about wealth and sustain it. But while trying to create this wealth, I have realized that in life it’s almost impossible to have it all, or chase it all. This is something I am beginning to realize through my baby steps of creating wealth and sustaining it.
In the quest of the daily consistent effort of trying to create wealth or sustaining it I have come to the conclusion that you can’t have it all. As a man, or rather as a human being you need money in your wallet, and you need good health and a healthy mind. But chasing the money has become the number one priority for an average man that they neglect the other parts, which is the mind and body.
This has caused a lot of people to do jobs that affect their health later in life. That’s the reason you find old people with ailments that is a result of their past occupations. Arthritis, diabetes, cancer, partial blindness, heart diseases and others are some of the ailment caused by the person’s activities due to their jobs. I remember working in a boutique store and had this customer who is a project supervisor walk into our store and started narrating how he passed out on the site. We asked him what happened and he said his doctor advised him to take a rest and stop working because his blood pressure was getting too high.
His blood pressure was getting too high because he was not getting enough rest. Why wasn’t he getting enough rest? Take a guess. He wasn’t getting enough rest because he was chasing wealth. While chasing money, he forgot to take care of his body and mind. We advised him to stick to the doctor’s advise and have a rest. But he looked and sounded reluctant, he sounded like someone who was ready to go back to the site and continue from where he stopped.
Since the day I graduated college, I have not had a moment of rest in trying to chase this paper. Chasing the paper comes with a lot of sacrifice, while it’s something not to be proud of, I sometimes neglect other parts of life. I decided to balance life by subscribing to a gym close to my house, which was going fine for me until I had more thing to do. I became so busy, the rate at which I went to the gym declined. I found myself giving excuses and avoiding the gym because I needed more time to chase wealth.
I am currently thinking of a way to balance all of them but this means that I will sacrifice and put in more dedication. How does this work? When you find yourself over working, over stressing or over loading your head with ideas, try to reduce your work intensity or take a break to get your mind in order. The money and chasing opportunities will always be there but your health is more important, take a break to focus on your body and mind sometimes. Most times it seems to expensive to take a break and focus on yourself, but health is wealth.
