Got the news and I checked the comment section with lots of people saying its unfair and they didn’t like that kraken had to result top that. But its been on going for a long time now that the SEC as been after crypto staking as it considers it a security. Remember when they were pressing coinbase’s neck in 2022, well they are coming with a full force as kraken has shut off its staking feature because of the SEC charges. But then what is an advantage you have over kraken customers as a hive user?
On Hive we can stake as we want, if we want to stake the Hive coin, we can stake it and earn curation reward that gives us over 8% APR and extra 2.7% APR just for staking, we don’t have to be scared of some SEC charges because Hive is completely decentralised. SEC will have no one to hold against or hold responsible as Hive has no CEO. We can also decide to stake the hive engine tokens from other communities and also earn, I think we have some liquidity pools on tribal dex you can try out and earn decent rewards, without the fear of SEC charges. We have the HBD savings that gives us 205 APR with low risk as it is the Hive blockchain’s native stable coin.
Once again this shows just how undervalued the Hive ecosystem is, the Hive ecosystem is flooded with a lot of opportunities that makes me value Hive too be worth over $50, we just lack the people and the demand, as a small community, the utilities are too much for us, just imagine, I am not utilising the hive liquidity pool because I totally forgot about it and people are not really making a buzz about it. And also the reason I didn’t have interest in the liquidity pool is because some of the hive engine tokens are the rewards for liquidity providing and you can’t sell them anywhere else but Hive. And if you look at the buy and sell orders of these hive engine tokens, there is no much or so little demand for them. This is because we lack the people that will demand them. But here we have kraken users feeling sad that kraken is shutting down its staking features. If only we can have them migrate to Hive and see these features we have here.
