I remember Binance coming up with an investment program late 2021, I think the total amount was $1 billion set aside to be invested on the blockchain. This doesn’t limit to Binance alone but to the entire crypto space, and some funds in the investment program was dedicated to crypto education. I think this might just be the beginning of the implementation of the crypto education program Binance had in its investment fund plan.

Nigeria has shown the world that crypto is a great opportunity to them so it’s right they utilize every opportunity. Binance decided to host a crypto master class in Nigerian universities. This is really great because, as much as crypto is quite popular in Nigeria, it’s still not popular enough for wide adoption by the youths. The Nigerian government’s decision of banning crypto and financial institutions transaction also gave some people the reason to dissociate theirselves from crypto.

Binance is trying its best to remain at the very top of their game in crypto education, crypto awareness and crypto adoption as its investing into teaching Nigerian youths. This is great for Binance because this will in turn bring in more Nigerian customers to Binance. Imagine Binance successfully teaching and convincing 500,000 Nigerians across the country about crypto and blockchain and they decide to register with Binance. What do you think will happen to Binance customer growth.

The crypto education master class started on the 3rd of this month which is February 3rd. The crypto company aims at education at least 3 universities in Nigeria. Binance started the crypto education in a university called FUTMinna(Federal University of Technology Minna). The crypto education class had more than 400 people in attendance. That’s probably at least 200 new Binance users. The crypto education is going to include the fundamentals of crypto, the fundamentals of blockchain and of course the Binance eco system.

More people will be taught Binance and how to use it, this education will be done for free so students don’t have to worry about paying any fee. They are also going to be taught crypto safety and security to help keep their assets safe.

Africa is great place to do this because we have the population, the continent’s economic status has made its people more resilient into looking for alternatives to getting financial freedom. It’s a great opportunity that this comes with decentralization limiting the government’s control over our digital assets.

This is just the beginning as more universities will be covered and more crypto education will be impacted on more Nigerians. I had a plan of doing this with Hive my first weeks on Hive, I felt that Hive is an opportunity that a lot of Nigerians will really appreciate.
