The Mulan teaser trailer is here to prove to us that the Disney live-action remake train is here to stay. Aladdin which people hated from the first picture, and hated even more with the first trailer has now passed 900 million dollars at the global box office. That is a very big deal. It proves that there is a vast interest in the live action remakes that Disney is releasing. Despite all of the discovery channel jokes that the Lion King is getting it might do even better than Aladdin at the box office.
Mulan will continue the success train. This trailer is beautiful. The colors, the scenery, the action, it all seems perfect. Director Niki Caro seems to be doing a great job. I heard that the plot will be different from the Disney version of the Mulan story, but so far, I don't see any difference. So far, I think almost everyone are happy with the trailer. But I am probably happier than most people.
I was never a big fan of the music in the movie so I am not too sad to see that gone, but a lot of people are upset about it. Yifei Liu looks amazing as Mulan. A bit too pretty in my opinion, but still, she seem to hold her own in action sequences. I hope she will look more badass in the movie itself. It looks like this movie will have a lot of action sequences and amazing ones. I am not too sad to see Mushu gone, because it will be too hard to try and replace Eddie Murphy. The Mulan sequel tried to do it and failed.
So yeah, my first impression is wow. I want to see this movie on the big screen.

Mulan comes out on 27 March 2020. Just a month before the Black Widow movie. Looks like 2020 will have plenty of female action heroines.
