I must start with a small confession, I started watching this season because I heard Jamie Campbell Bower was in this season and I love him. He did not disappoint. But wow, what an amazing season. I heard so many great things about this season that along with the new casting I caved to the hype and I actually finished watching season 3 for this season. I did stop in the middle of season 3 a few years ago It's not like season 3 was bad, it just that it started to be super slow in the middle so I just stopped. But now that I finished it, I think the ending was great and left a great opening for season 4.

This was such a great season. I can't say it was a return to form because unlike season 1, this season didn't feel small. It felt bigger than life with the stakes being bigger than ever. It is the longest season that they had so far when it comes to minutes and it shows and feels. On the one hand we get so many awesome movements, character development and exploration of the past. Some at some points I wish the season was longer so we could spend more time with some characters. And for more characters to get some spotlight (yes, I am talking about Will amongst others). I am sure that no length of time could have been enough.

And yet the show was a little too slow at times. You consider hitting that forward button a little. Maybe some scenes needed some cutting or should have ended up on the editing floor. But I just couldn't pause the show until I absolutely had to go to sleep. I couldn't stop watching. I had to know what was going to happen now. The season was so interesting and so well constructed. The reward at the end of the season was so fulfilling.

Let's talk about the things that make this season so good. First of all, the characters. Yes, it is not enough that the show has so many characters as it is, we now get a new set of characters on top of it. And I love every single one. Including characters that show up only for 15 minutes. Yes, I too loved Eddie Munson, he was one of the best. Robin just becomes more and more awesome. I still can't believe Sadie Sink isn't nominated for an Emmy for her role as Max. "Dear Billy" is just a phenomenal episode and she deserves praise and recognition for her work. I love Jamie Campbell Bower and his acting has improved so much since his earlier days. But still, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven carries the show on her shoulders. No matter what, you can't have Stranger Things without her.

The second thing that made the season so good is the plot. It felt like the direction that this season was going in was very clear. The good guys already know how to deal with crisis from the Upside Down, they know what to do and how to do it, but now the Upside Down has a different plan, a new plan. It evolves. It is even smarter and more dangerous than it was. The stakes are even higher now. But we also learn a lot more about it, so it becomes even more interesting and I want more. A lot more than what we got. I want season 5 now.

It is hard to describe how much I loved this season. You just have to pull though season 3 and you will be greatly rewarded.
