This morning, amidst the breeze and the quiet of nature, I spotted a Slender Skimmer dragonfly perched calmly at the tip of a dead stem. I approached it slowly and cautiously. I made sure not to stand too close; I could see it was on high alert, constantly moving its head. It appeared quite restless, so I decided to photograph it from a slight distance to avoid agitating it further.
The dragonfly was medium-sized, making it relatively easy to photograph from a bit further away. It is a beautifully colored species belonging to the Libellulidae family, featuring a lovely combination of green and black. The foliage a mix of green and the brown of dried leaves provided a perfect backdrop, creating a harmonious scene on this peaceful morning. Its transparent wings were adorned with unique, intricate patterns resembling a neatly designed web.
