I have been involved in the MUSE project now for over two months and got involved purely through STEEM which I have been part of for well over a year now. Some thoughts occur to me around bootstrapping, the term which comes from the gold rush and refers to the trials of trying to get started with nothing sort of. It however more so refers to trying to pull ones self up by the bootstraps, an interesting proposition to say the least.
Where does one start with an economy, especially an online decentralised peer to peer application economy. Are the grunt workers of the economy the most important? Are the clients the most important? Is the resource that the economy produces the most important? ...There is no easy answer because the answer to all of these questions is yes. Everything is balance. The nice thing however is that no individual has to do it all themselves, we are working peer to peer after all and every one of those peers has their strengths which means that if we do it right we all find our niche that we enjoy and then we do the things that are required there until we find that we don't enjoy it any longer and then we move on. The economy becomes a living biosphere of important pieces.
I might liken it to the biosphere of a pond which has frogs, tadpoles, fish, insects and plant life each of which fulfils a role in the overall. One consuming another some working together but every single piece being 100% required for the over all to function.
If you are interested in building more equitable economies with me and the rest of the MUSE community I encourage you to join our SLACK and see if there is anything you would like to do. This can be anything from healthy discussion to becoming a witness to even being developer on the platform. We are also seeking community engagers.
