In the country of Amuloko, the rate of unemployment was higher than normal, and many graduates were still roaming about the streets looking for suitable jobs. Every year many people leave school and join the labour market. Yet, this problem is compounded yearly. The government didn't do anything about the situation at hand. Meanwhile, every month people are retiring from service. No replacement, no recruitment, and the number of manpower is reducing every month which leads to excessive work for the remaining people at work.
Nevertheless, Samson the brainbox just left one company due to the nature of his employment. He was a contract staff member at where he was working before. His contract time has elapsed. After a week he left his previous job. He got information about the job opportunity at one company and applied immediately.
Later, he was invited for an interview. When he got there, he spotted his schoolmate Mr.Smith at the doorstep of the waiting room holding a mopping stick and a broom and he looked like an errand boy.
Mr. Smith, who held the mopping stick and broom, was excited, eager to embrace him, and greeted him. He said, “Hello friend, it has been a while since I saw you. How are you doing?
It is my pleasure to see you again.”
“Yes, it is quite an age indeed. How is your side? What are you doing here? Ah! I am still asking what you are doing here. I can figure out that you are a steward. But how come? Everyone was envious of you during our school days for being a genius among us. We thought that you would have your own company or work at a blue-chip company. Look at life now. You are going to be my office assistant. Sending you anywhere I want you to go.” Said Samson.
Mr. Smith nodded, and both of them departed. However, he was called in by the HR department for assessment and a proper interview. He performed very well and they told him that it is only the chairman of the company who will give the final verdict.
When getting to the chairman's office, they present two people Mr. Samson and the young Lady. Meanwhile, Mr. Smith met with this young lady who also came for an interview, and assisted him with courtesy while packing the mopping stick they used to tidy up the room. Mr. Smith said to her at that time. Thank you for this, God will reward you accordingly.
In conclusion, Smith said that I welcome everyone here today. It is my pleasure to see you. Apparently, this lady may not sound very well but she has qualities I wanted in a person who will become the general manager of this company. Teamwork is the key in any organization. She shows me that she is going to team with other people in achieving a common goal. And you, Mr. Samson, do you remember what happened in the waiting room? Yes, I know that you will remember. You don't know who I was and you were bullying me. You said all that to my face. It is a pity. I will advise you to go and work on yourself. Pride and ego overwhelmed you. God will see you through in your future endeavors. You can not work with me. Good day. That was how Mr. Samson lost the job.
