Does money change people or does it only unveil the person that they really are? There are so many cases in my life as a man of more than 50 years that can illustrate my point. I have seen people get poor, then rich, then broke again, and grow old. I think that money rarely changes people but only allows them to reveal their true nature, or at least, the one they have chosen to live with.
I believe that money rarely changes people, but only unveils the person that they really are, or at least, the one they have chosen to live with
Being in poverty makes one humble and caring as they know the feeling of being desperate and without resources. For example, the same person may look that they are aloof when they become rich because now they can look down on others. This can give us the illusion that money has changed them still I think they got exposed to their inner nature.
On the other hand, I have also witnessed people that are grateful for every penny and go out of their way to help others, including their own family and community, even when they are struggling
In cases such as these, money has not changed people, it has only allowed them to do more for others as they reach a higher level of affluence. I have experienced this feeling in my life and it has taught me to be more humble as well as grateful for the help that I am given and the opportunity to earn a lot of money.
I'm more than 50 years old and I think that money can make people rich and also has the ability to change them. On the one hand, there are people that I have met in different stages of my life that have been altered by money in a bad way. On the other hand, there are also individuals that have been better because of money. I think sometimes it does reveal true character but merely helping them.
