Hello everyone, how are you all? It's Sunday, obviously not weekend in my country. But I made some time for myself so, in my leisure time I love to play Splinterlands. Moreover, Frontier Ranked battles has been going wild for a long time. I know matches can be quite unpredictable and most of the time I am matched against players with too much higher ratings.
This time, I got a battle with a huge 67 Mana cap. I have always been grateful when it's a high mana cap. Because I don't know which lineup would be best with low mana cap. The ruleset created some restrictions but it wasn't a big deal for me. Ranged attacks were not allowed, I do not use ranged attackers that much so it was easy to avoid ranged cards and focus on other types of damage. I personally, like melee attackers the most and magic.
Let's begin with the battle.
Mana: 67
Rulesets: Armored Up (All units gain +2 Armor).
Broken Arrows(You cannot summon units with ranged attacks).
Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon. (All available)
As you can see we have the opportunity for 67 Mana, I had enough options to choose from and build a very powerful lineup. I decided to focus on my Death team and rely on melee and magic damage.
The Armored Up ruleset was also something I had to keep in mind that all cards would receive an additional +2 Armor, that means opening attacks would be more difficult to break through so I thought I should make a frontline that could survive for a long time while the rest of my team can continue to attack.
Summoner
Thalgrimore - All enemy units have -1 Health (Level 1)
1st Position – Nim Guard Captain (Level 1)
2nd Position – Spellmonger (Level 1)
3rd Position – Sorrow Harvester (Level 1)
4th Position – Vengeful Monk (Level 1)
5th Position – Great Bear Druid (Level 1)
6th Position – New Beluroc Aegis (Level 1)
I had put Nim Guard Captain in the first position. Because he is strong and has enough armor, I expected the frontline to survive longer and give my other cards enough time to do their part in the match.
When I saw my enemy, Apolqtiee, I knew this was not going to be an easy battle. Because my enemy had a rating of 1,580, and my rating was 1,340 only, of course there was a noticeable difference between us.
As the match stared I noticed he was also using the Death element, which made the battle even more hard. We almost had the same lineup except our back lines. Thanks to the extra armor gave everyone some additional protection. My frontline had to absorb quite a few attacks while my cards behind it continued putting pressure on the enemy.
The battle was much longer than my previous four-round match but this time it continued for 10 rounds, now you can guess how hard the battle was. There were moments when I wasn't completely sure whether I would be able to finish the battle and win it. My enemy's last and my last card was battling too hard. When the battle finally ended, I was very happy to see the VICTORY screen.
It's a big thing for me to win against a player with a higher rating. The final battle overview showed that the match lasted 10 rounds, and my Frontier rating stood at 1,340 in Silver II.
When I spun the wheel of lux's favor I received +300 Sparks along with +30 Bonus Sparks. But there was another surprise that I really appreciated.
I received a gift from Atnazo which is a Dread Tafarian card level 3. It was a very nice gesture and definitely made the gaming session even better. Thank you so much, 
It was a challenging Frontier Ranked battles I've played recently. Facing a player with a higher rating and still managing to secure the victory after 10 rounds felt great. I'm currently sitting at Silver II with a 1,340 rating and my goal is still to keep improving and eventually push toward Silver I.
