Hello everyone, how is your Splinterlands matches been going? Here to share another Modern Ranked battle with everyone. This time I got a battle with 51 Mana, which gave me enough mana to make a strong lineup with several cards.
I was happy to see such high mana because I could use some of my stronger cards together. Instead of going with a small lineup, this time I wanted to use six cards and see how they could work together.
Mana: 51
Elements: All Elements
Ruleset: Standard
Standard: No change to standard gameplay rules or mechanics.
Since there were no special rulesets to worry about, I could simply focus on building a team that had good balance between attacking and surviving.
With 51 Mana available, I decided to use my Death team and make a full lineup with six cards.
For the summoner, I chose Lorkus. I wanted to make use of the abilities from my Death team and have a lineup that could deal enough damage while also surviving the attacks from the enemy.
Here was my lineup:
Summoner
Thalgrimore
1st Position – Nim Guard Captain (lv.1)
2nd Position – New Beluroc Aegis (lv.1)
3rd Position – Black Widow (lv.1)
4th Position – Vengeful Monk
5th Position – Sorrow Harvester
6th Position – Lenore Nevermore
I placed Nim Guard Captain in the first position because I wanted a card that could stand in front and take the attacks from the enemy.
Behind him, I placed New Beluroc Aegis. One of the reasons I liked this choice was the Taunt ability. It can draw attacks from enemy units, so I thought it could be useful for protecting the other cards in my team.
For the third position, I got Black Widow put there and I wanted to have two attackers today.
Then I placed Sorrow Harvester and Vengeful Monk and Lenore Nevermore
51 Mana, allowed me to use different cards with different abilities. I was not sure how the complete team would perform before the battle started, but I was excited to see it.
My enemy was ZAHEL, and they also came with a strong lineup.
My enemy had too much powerful cards of level 3 and the match had enough mana for both of us to make a proper team.
The battle started and my first focus was on Nim Guard Captain because he had to face the enemy attacks first.
At the same time, New Beluroc Aegis was doing an important job behind him. Its Taunt ability made it another target for enemy attacks, which gave my other cards more time to attack.
This is one thing I like about having a card with Taunt in the lineup. Sometimes protecting your other cards is just as important as dealing damage.
As the rounds continued, both teams kept attacking each other. I was watching the health of my frontline because if my first cards went down too quickly, my whole strategy could become difficult.
But my team was able to keep fighting.
Black Widow and the cards behind the frontline continued to put pressure on the enemy. Slowly the enemy team started losing cards and this gave me more confidence that I could take this battle.
I was specially happy to see that my lineup was working better than I expected. With six cards on the field, I had enough support behind the frontline to keep the battle going.
Finally my team was able to finish the battle with a VICTORY.
Honestly, winning a battle with a lineup that you were not completely sure about feels really good.
So I got +20 rating again, and my final ratings was 320 in Bronze III in modern ranked match. I received +81 Glint from the battle too. I still had plenty of energy available for more battles.
This was another enjoyable Modern Ranked battle for me. The 51 Mana gave me enough room to use a full six-card Death lineup, and I was happy with how the team performed.
I really liked how New Beluroc Aegis worked with its Taunt ability and how it helped give my other cards some protection. Nim Guard Captain also did his job in the frontline while the cards behind him continued attacking.
The battle ended with a nice victory and +20 rating, so I was happy with the result.
Now I'm going to keep trying more Modern Ranked battles and hopefully move up from Bronze III. I still have plenty of energy left, so maybe another battle will bring another good result.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my battle report.
