I recently got a new Bearded Dragon as a pet. I would have never guessed that would lead to me learning about beetles.
I went to a local park to collect some wood for my new reptile's habitat.
I found an excellent piece of wood but did not properly sanitize it before adding it to the habitat.
When i placed the feed crickets into the habitat, they found holes that were in the wood, and entered them.
Much to my amazement, i saw some sand begin to be pushed out of a new hole. I watched, expecting to see a cricket head pop out.
Instead I saw this crazy looking ivory marked longhorn beetle! I had no idea what it was and had to research it.
It is quite an amazing little beetle. I carefully removed it from the habitat and took these pictures to remember it before setting it free.
