Marky Sue sounds incredibly naive for a scientist and a scholar. I don't believe these titles are earned nor are they reflected in the character's motives or actions. Making a longer story is a noble goal but you have to be careful to make additions meaningful. There was no conflicts in the story because you gave your protagonist infinite plot armour and no real challenge whatsoever. Your entire story is padding.
