The lesser spotted woodpecker (Dryobates minor)
Little cute woodpecker.
I saw him from afar, turned on the sounds of a lesser woodpecker on my bluetooth speaker and he reluctantly flew in. He sat on a branch and looked displeasedly down at the sound source.
The great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major)
And nearby this "strong guy" was having dinner. Look at his beak, see? He holds a little cone. This species of woodpecker hollows small holes in the trees, called "forges," where they then insert cones to make it easier for them to peck.
