A characteristic inhabitant of shrub thickets, located among floodplain meadows, along the banks of rivers and various stagnant bodies of water. But in our city, these birds, in addition to the above, live near the forest near the river and bushes. And also in another forest, also near the river, and further on in a clearing with bushes.
In early - mid-May, bright beautiful males sit on the tops of bushes or individual branches of trees, so that everyone can see them. And so they sing their song.
In the first photo, as you might have guessed, there is a male. The older the male, the brighter and more saturated his pink colors. And in the second photo there is a female, she is nondescript, young birds are colored the same as the female.
