It's another week to wear something nice. Throughout the weekend, I was a bit busy with some customer wear that needed to be delivered and also some personal clothes I had to work on. One of the things that make me work harder and give my customers the best is the fear of losing their trust. Imagine I was referred and my referral has given 100% to his or her friend, and on delivery, it was something different that alone is enough to send them away.
My neighbor brought a chiffon material last Friday; she wanted it in the form of a skirt and blouse. These past few weeks, I've been working more on chiffon materials, so I guess that's people's favorite for now. Towards the end of last year, it was London material that was reigning. Well, people appreciate different choices. She said she wanted a simple style, something she could just wear casually, and I thought of giving her the best according to her choice.

The texture of chiffon is always so soft, which requires being careful while cutting so as not to spoil the material. It is a good material to work on, especially if it requires sewing simple styles. Putting on clothing doesn't just cover our nakedness; it speaks so much about who we are and showcases our culture to the world.

Having handwork that shows your contribution to society allows you to express yourself in your little way. Apart from your professional career, one's handwork is also required to make life easier and also create a platform for you for the world to see what you have to offer; it is your way of giving back to society. Many people despise handwork because they believe it's for the illiterate, whereas it's not. The literate stand better chances because they will imbibe the education aspect of it and add more packaging, which will make them more worthy of their handwork.

When it comes to fashion design, a friend of mine used to say the name fashion designer is for the literate, while the name tailor is for the illiterate. That does crack my ribs because a fashion designer will know how to come up with a combination of styles and how to make the cloth more desirable than what it looks like. I agree with her, though, because a good fashion designer must be able to make a difference.

Looking at my neighbor's chiffon skirt and blouse, I felt pleased because I knew I gave her what she wanted, and that's how it should be. Although no one is above mistakes, and sometimes mistakes are inevitable, how you handle them matters most, and this proves whether you are a tailor or a fashion designer.

Customer satisfaction is the joy of everyone who has one handwork or the other. You won't want to run out of favor in their sight because they are the reason you can keep sharing your good deeds for the world to see.
