May isn't just the month for laborers. It's also the month for the ones who enjoyed the suffering of labor for the laborers to be born. It is the month for all the woman who carried us for nine months inside their wombs. It is the month for all the mothers in the world. Whatever you call them in which part of the country you are, there will always be one word to describe them. Superhero. _ May isn't just the month for laborers. When it comes to superheroes, we have this woman who stands as a hero to all the ladies. She is Wonder Woman. Now, we will start comparing our mother to her. Because like Wonder Woman our mother is a woman of Strength. The strength on how she endured the pain of giving birth to us just so she can see the joy in our faces. Our mother is a woman Happiness. The happiness on their faces when they first took a glimpse on us and held us on their arms.
Our mother is a woman of Wisdom. The wisdom of first teaching us how to walk, talk and how to get along with others. She has the wisdom of giving us the first lessons in our life that we will cherish forever. Our mothers are a woman of Faith. For believing in us in everything we do. For trusting us that in every mistake we've done, there is something to learn. For having faith in us that we can be successful in life.
I remembered this story that my adviser once told us. "There was this little girl who showed a paper to her mom after doing house chores. The writings on the paper goes this way: cleaning up my bedroom-$2 arranging my closet-$3 watering the plants-$3 washing the dishes-$4 doing the laundry-$6. Her mother simply smiled while writing something on another paper. She handed it to her daughter and the little girl read it:
Carrying you for nine months in my womb-no pay guiding you as you grow-no pay taking you to school everyday-no pay doing all the things for you with all my strength and all my love-no pay. Teary eyed, the daughter grabs a pen and wrote in big capital letters on her paper: FULLY PAID." That's just how wonderful our moms are. It is not too late to say, Happy Mother's Day to all the Wonder Womoms in the world.
