Today, I woke up and instead of my usual corn flakes, I whipped out the baking rack, fired up the oven and baked up some of these beauties for breakfast.

A big tray of steem-ing SPUDS for what will hence forth be known as... Spud-Day. Full disclosure, I didn't really as I'm in the final stages of a three week elemental liquid diet for my chronic condition, SIBO.
But, as soon as I do stop drinking these rancid drinks morning, noon and night for my ballast, I'm gonna cook up a tray of these steem-ing beauties.
I've also been in earnest discussion with my better half and we have decided that we are going to name our first born child... SPUDYOULIKEHER, or SPUDULIKA, or SPUDULIK... if it's a boy. Check out the home video below.

Over the next few years I've decided that the allotment is going to be a 100% organic... 100% SPUD producing zone! With the emphasis on Jersey Royals, the king of potatoes.
I've also heard a lot about the benefits of the warrior diet and intermittent fasting! I'm going to take this one step further with a 14 hour overnight fast each day, followed by nothing but a diet of premium, organic nutritious Spud's. That's my five a day sorted 😉... a potato is a vegetable!
Steem Power Up Day is the brain child of 
On this day no one sells and no one sends Steem to any exchanges. On this day no one powers down and if you are already powering down, then Stop it for that one day and then start powering down the next day... those who can or are willing too, Power Up on the Designated Day.

There are a sht tone of other steemians taking part in this initiative! I simply didn't want to tag in people who might see my tagging as spam.... well.... because it's rude and very un-spuds-manly behavior. I know that all of these people will recognize me and appreciate the shout out. Also, I'm going to visit each and every one of their SPUD-DAY posts and give them 100% upvote once my VP recovers to full ⏫ 🙂
They will be my first full votes as a newly flipper-ed dolphin and I'm looking forward to casting them.
I think the cumulative effect of all of this powering up should not be undervalued! We all know that steem, as an asset, does have a large selling pressure in the markets.... this is the nature of the beast. The fact that this is a content platform which supports many people in there day to day lives, especially from poorer countries, is the thing that most impresses me about steem. But, as I mentioned, this creates a selling pressure on the token.
This many people powering up and showing commitment to steem should have two effects.
Firstly, it wouldn't surprise me if we saw a small spike in the steem price. Both because of the reduced selling pressure and the peception that this initiative brings. Make no mistake, everyone who is joining in with this is sending a clear message of confident sentiment out into the crypto world in general.
Secondly, I feel that this is going to further reduce the wealth gap on steem. The slow development of a more balanced wealth/class make up on steem is crucial for its evolution as a whole. It also makes the ecosystem a lot healthier as dolphins and minnows are generally more focused on manual curation rather than delegation for ROI.
