SPUD 4... A Roast 'Potato' Reckoning

Today is Steem Power Up Day (part 4) 'The Reckoning' 😆 I thought I'd follow my usual tradition and make a fun potato themed post which 'takes the piss' in the nicest possible way. Think of 'a roast'... potato that is. Groans incoming, sorry guys... once I pop I can't stop with the potato puns. Let the chips fall where they may!

Real quick though, what is SPUD?

Well.... SPUD stands for:

Special Potato Utopian Democracy

That's an idea I can really get behind. After all, isn't that the real message behind steem when all is said and done? 😉

Ok, enough of my anarchistic potato based humor, what does it really stand for?

Steem Power Up Day

There have been three Spud days already, but who wouldn't want more! Like the roast potatoes at Christmas, you can never get enough. SPUD is the brain-child of @streetstyle and the idea is simple; to help grow the price of steem by encouraging the one behavior we know locks up value in the ecosystem... powering up. I powered up 942.723 STEEM three months ago on the first ever SPUD day and although I can't match that today, I will be powering up all my steem later. Around 10 steem this time around.

I'd like to say a big sorry to @riverflows for chickening out on playing guitar and singing the proposed SPUD theme song based on Bob Marley's stir it up - 'power it up'. To try and make up for it, I shall attempt to write a poem worthy of this momentous occasion.

'Ode to Mashed Potatoes'

I love mashed potatoes,
I'd eat them in my sleep,
I see them in my dreams
at night,
in a massive buttery heap.

I love mashed potatoes,
I could eat them every day,
I'd have them in a sandwich
or wrap,
even at an all potato buffet,

forget about your potato chips,
crinkle cut, straight or wavy,
just give me a mountain of mash
with just a splash...
of tasty onion gravy.
