Snow fell in my hometown a few days ago. This rarely happens where I live and it seemed like before it had settled properly it was gone. I took a walk in my local park and the rapid thaw reminded me of the transience of life. The snow's brief flurry set off a melancholic yearning for the past, an ache of nostalgia for relatives and friends lost to the ravages of time.

Anyway, before I get too maudlin, the weather and my musings inspired me to write this Haiku. I hope you enjoy it ☃

Snow's brief flurry.
Water's fleet expression
born in the morning.
