Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally coming to PC.
I've been waiting for this one for a long time!
No longer do I have to listen to my friend taunt me in the pub about PC gamers missing out on this iconic game, or bug him to let me play Red Dead 1 on his PlayStation in between matches of FIFA.
We all know the internet can be full of false rumors, especially when it comes to GTA titles and the possibility of the Red Dead franchise coming to PC, but it seems this time it's the real deal. Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on PC on the 5th November 2019.
Red Dead 2 will be available via Rockstar's PC launcher as well as Epic Games store, Greenman Gaming, the Humble Store, GameStop and additional digital retailers. There will also be a Google Stadia version and it will launch on Steam in December. If you follow the link above and download the PC launcher now, you can get a free copy of GTA San Andreas thrown into the bargain.
On top of all this news apparently if you pre-purchase the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 from the Rockstar launcher you'll get some added bonuses such as the War Horse mount, a treasure map, and a cash bonus for Story Mode, plus 50 Gold Bars for Red Dead Online. Pre-purchase will also entitle you to pick two free games from the following list - GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, Bully, LA Noire and Max Payne 3.
It seems like Rockstar Games might be trying to make up with ther PC customers for the long wait 😉
The official announcement from Rockstar says that the PC version of the game will feature "a range of graphical and technical enhancements along with new Bounty Hunting Missions, Gang Hideouts and Weapons".
I can't tell you how excited I am about this one. I haven't ever played the second in the Red Dead series, but like most PC gamers I watched the trailers green with envy, fully expecting never to get to play it on my rig.
Later I watched various online gameplay videos for RDR2 and the pain got even worse! Don't get me wrong, we have some awesome online gaming options on the PC but GTA style open world games are my favorite style of game play.
I've recently been working my way through Assassins Creed Origins with a view to moving on to explore ancient Greece in AC Odyssey. Ha ha, it looks like I need to get a hustle on or change my plans. Because come November the 5th, I'm gonna break out the sweat pants, stock up on supplies and drop off the face of the planet into the world of Red Dead. Maybe even get a good old fashioned LAN party on the go...
