Car maintenance!!
Today I helped my friend change his brake pads. First I put the car on jackstands. After that I removed the tire. Now that the tire was removed, I removed(unscrewed) the 2 bolts that hold the brake clamp in place. Then I took out the old pads, loosened the brake caliper nipple and pushed the brake piston back inside so that there is enough space for the new ones. Oh and I removed the brakefluid reservoir cap otherwise there would be a build-up of pressure that could cause a leak. I put in the new pads and put everything back into place and tightened everything. Normally you would have to bleed the brake system but because I loosened the nipple before pushing the piston back, it wasn't necessary. And before driving the car after a brake maintenance session I had to pump the brake a couple of times to get it fully pressurized. For the break-in I had to bring the car to 60kph and brake till I reach 20kph. I repeated this step 10 times. The break-in is needed to get the resins in the pads cured in. If this step is left incomplete you will reduced brake power and uneven wear.
