Sports is a perfect example where human intelligence is superior! Ofcourse AI could make a basic plan, or even the best plan of the world - but we need to feel what we are doing and make adjustments based on this. AI cannot feel what we feel and is not with us during a run.
AI plans also neglect the psychological factors of running (while it is >70% just psychological) , if you were to run a first ever marathon, AI would suggest to do 2 runs at 32km - which is physically correct, but that is where the mental race just begins - a human coach would 100% suggest to do a 34 - 36km at least once to see how you handle it.
Personally, I make my own plans mostly based on 10 years of marathons , mixed with some elements from the theory from “Advanced Marathoning - from Pfitzinger” that work for me. I use AI soley after the runs , by letting it analyze my pace / heart rate graph.
AI won’t run our race :)
