According to Aristotle, courage is the first virtue that makes all other virtues possible. It governs and overcome fear.
Courage is the quality that enables one to face that which seems difficult without showing fear and Beauty is that quality that gives pleasure to the sense.
Acting courageously generally makes us feel good and bring out the beauty in us as it involves mastering emotion.
Courage involves a great risk taking, it's the sense of acting in a way that responds to risk appropriately and at the end of the day, it helps us to accomplish good things. We have colorful tales in history that tells us about Social activists like Martin Luther king, Nelson Mandela among others, who choose to speak out against injustice, also of entrepreneurs like Steve Jobs, who took financial risks through courage to follow their dreams and today they are like modern day knights for motivation.
Courage is also an attribute that makes us worthy of respect. From the bible to fairy tales, ancient myths to Hollywood movies, name it, David battling with Goliath in the bible, we have seen Star Wars, Harry Potter and others who are celebrated and respected for their act of bravery and self sacrifice for greater good
Finally, courage is the key to great leadership. It takes making bold and often unpopular decisions. A leader should be able to make decisions decisively and interpret the situation with rational and emotional intelligence coupled with humility and great confidence.
Believe me, fear is just an invitation to courage, you have to eagerly accept the invitation, like Nelson Mandela said 'a brave man isn't he who doesn't feel afraid but he who conquer that fear' So even if your voice shakes, speak your mind for he who is able to take risks, is he who will know how far he can go.
Note; the only difference between ordinary and extraordinary, a star and a super star, is 'EXTRA and SUPER respectively, the measure and virtue of courage.
