Absolutely, books have been my salvation in terms of reading, and I rarely get them digitally. I prefer them in physical version, and going to a library is the best way for me to get something good to read.

But it's sad to see websites that used to be good get greedy and do shitty marketing moves, sometimes without telling you, just to make a big of extra money. The same applies to apps or even devices.

As I said, every time I search something on Google the first 3-4 results are ads. I use Brave as my browser, which has an integrated ad block, but it doesn't work on Google because they add those ads as search results I guess.

Microsoft has been annoying the hell out of me lately with that, with their recommendations, with their stupid apps that get installed on my PC after each update no matter how many times I delete them, Candy Crush especially.

Medium is pushing every bit of shitty "premium" content on me hoping that I'll buy a subscription to read them, which is sometimes a lottery. Just because an article is "premium" it doesn't mean it's good, so you might simply be paying for crap.

It's just sad. I'm slowly moving towards whatever tool and medium I can find that just doesn't try to promote a paid service to me. I'm starting to use Linux for work. I buy and read physical books most of the time instead of articles online. I'm slowly starting to use open source software because it just lets me do my work.

I miss the part of the old internet in which people just wanted to share content online and create cool things. Nowadays it seems that everyone is interested only in getting famous through any means and making as much money as possible.
