How are you all? I hope everyone is doing well. Alhamdulillah, I am also doing great. Today, I am going to share a very delicious and refreshing Tamarind Chutney recipe with you all.
This chutney is especially enjoyable during the summer season. When the weather is hot, we often don’t feel like eating heavy food. At times like this, something fresh, tangy, and spicy can make our meal much more enjoyable. That is why I often make this chutney at home. You can enjoy it with dal and roti, or serve it with pakoras and samosas. It also tastes absolutely delicious with different types of chaat.
So, let’s get started!
First, let’s prepare all the ingredients we need. For this chutney, we will use one packet of dry amchur, one packet of tamarind, fresh mint leaves, fresh coriander, green chilies, and garlic. You can also add salt according to your taste.
First, wash the mint leaves and fresh coriander very well and clean them properly. Cut them into smaller pieces and put them into a blender. Then add peeled garlic cloves and green chilies. Blend everything together until you get a smooth and fine paste. If needed, you can add a little water while blending to make the paste smooth.
Now, on the other side, we will prepare the dry amchur. Since dry amchur is quite hard, we need to soak it in water for some time so that it becomes soft. Add some water and leave it to soak properly.
At the same time, soak the tamarind in warm water. Let it sit for a while so that the tamarind becomes soft and releases all its pulp.
After some time, take the soaked tamarind and mash it well with your hands. This will help separate the pulp from the seeds and the skin. Remove the seeds and any remaining skin, and then strain the tamarind water properly. Keep this tangy tamarind water aside.
Now take the soaked amchur and blend it well. While blending, it can become quite thick, so keep adding a little water as needed. Continue blending until you get a smooth mixture. Once it is ready, add the tamarind water to the amchur mixture and mix everything together nicely.
Now it is time to combine everything. Add the tamarind and amchur mixture to the mint, coriander, garlic, and green chili paste that we prepared earlier. Mix all the ingredients very well until everything is properly combined.
If you like salt in your chutney, you can add it according to your taste. However, the amchur I use already contains salt, so I do not add any extra salt to my chutney.
And that’s it! Our delicious, tangy, spicy, and refreshing tamarind chutney is ready.
You can enjoy this chutney with dal, roti, pakoras, samosas, or chaat. Honestly, even if you simply eat it with fresh roti, it tastes absolutely amazing!
I hope you will try this easy and delicious recipe at home.
